Public
Awareness and Education for Development
RESCATE
has been carrying out public awareness and educational activities
in Spain since 1999. Our work aims to raise awareness of the causes
and consequences of both forced and voluntary migration through
activities in two areas:
Education
for Development, aimed at school students of all levels
and their teachers.
Public
Awareness, aimed at informing people about the problems
we seek to address both through our headquarters in Spain and
in the other countries where we work, in our commitment to build
a world free from conflict.
Two
fundamental perspectives underpin all our work; the key role of
inter-culturality in resolving social conflict and the
need to provide specialized attention to particularly vulnerable
groups among our beneficiaries, such as young children, girls
and women. Defending gender equality is a given of all our projects.
To
these ends, we are active in the following areas:
Educational
Workshops in the Schools
-
El Círculo del Retorno: an educational boardgame
designed for secondary and final year (bachillerato) students.
-
Cuenteatro (storytelling through drama) Workshops: learning
to feel, think and play (primary level).
Publication
of materials on development, social action, public awareness
and education for development
Participation
in fairs and other events
Promotion
of volunteerism
