Pictures from the Premier Showing of the Puppet Show
"Un tesoro llamado agua. ¡Vamos a Etiopía!"

On 29 June, RESCATE presented for the first time a puppet show designed to educate young children about the importance of water and its proper management. Using the example of Ethiopia, where RESCATE works to mitigate the effects of drought, the puppet show also addresses topics such as international development and diversity in an engaging and accessible manner.

Here, we share with you some pictures from the first show, which took place in the framework of the Fiesta Arcoiris, organized by the Centro de Acogida a Refugiados (CAR) of Alcobendas to commemorate World Refugee Day.

The puppet show, created by the company Artefusión, was made possible by funding from the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional (AECI) and the Fundación Caja Navarra. In the course of the coming school year, nine more showings will be offered in four regions of Spain.

The first to arrive wait patiently for the show to begin.

"The story you are about to hear is a true one, because in reality it's taking place right now, in a country in Africa called Ethiopia. Ethiopia is in what they call the Horn of Africa, because it's in the corner and it's shaped like a horn..."

Claudia, a member of Artefusión, introduces the puppet show.
